Kathryn from @sunnyhillflowerfarms has written a sweet book about what it’s like to be a flower girl. Using real pictures that she’s taken on the farm.

This book is a beautiful reflection of her beautiful form. I think it will inspire children to plant more flowers, which is always a good thing. I can’t wait to share it with my grandsons.

Katherine has done all the work of publishing this book, not only the writing and photography but also the printing and binding on the farm. That’s quite a feat!

What an adorable book and message you have cultivated! The kids and I thoroughly enjoyed reading through your special book and are even more excited about visiting the farm sometime when God aligns the stars... And hopefully soon 😉. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

This is so sweet lady…you captured your little flower farm perfectly with apparent love and gentleness. The pics are soft which is unusual in a children’s book with much family and community presence. My husband just finished reading and says good job and really liked focus on importance of family.

Why I Created This Book

As a Christian, a homeschool graduate, and a flower farmer for over six years—and as an aunt twenty-six times over—I noticed something missing: a children’s book that features a flower farm and the incredible wonder that comes from planting a single seed.

Created especially for children ages 2–4, this book brings real photographs taken on the farm and invites young readers into a slower, more natural pace of life. Each image is softly finished in watercolor, and every animal in the story truly has lived here.

Printed and bound right on the farm, every copy is made by hand—and bound with love.

More Than a Story

  • Encourages patience and care
Children see how a tiny seed grows over time, learning that meaningful work takes diligence as they follow a farmer’s gentle journey.

  • Introduces seasonal rhythms
Through changing landscapes and farm scenes, little ones discover how the seasons shape the world around us.

  • Sparks curiosity about nature
From the beginning of a seed to the small creatures hidden in the garden, the story invites questions and wonder.

  • Supports early language development
Simple words paired with rich imagery make this an ideal early reader, encouraging pointing, naming, and conversation.

  • Creates calm, meaningful reading moments
Soft watercolor imagery and gentle details were chosen intentionally to offer a slower, less overstimulating reading experience.
