From the first sip of hot chocolate in my favorite mug to unboxing the Christmas décor—that nostalgic scent filling the whole house—I feel the season settle in fast.
Before I know it, all my favorite reds and greens, the teddy bears, the pillows… everything is scattered across the kitchen table, the floor, even my bed!
That’s just how Christmas seems to go.
I don’t know about you, but the season can feel like a mad dash, and somehow I always leave gift wrapping to the very last minute. It ends up feeling rushed, un-thoughtful, and honestly… not the most exciting part of my holiday. Maybe that’s because I’ve never really enjoyed doing it.
But recently something changed. I discovered a new groove thanks to—of all things—old magazines.
Now before you think you know where this is going, let me explain.
I started looking through all those old magazines and catalogs I’ve saved over the years, filled with beautiful photos. So I began tearing out my favorites… laying them out in a funky, eclectic pattern… and taping them together. Cute idea, but not very magical.
So on my second try, I grabbed one of those little craft glue sticks… and EEK—game changer. I’m sold. I can’t stop myself now.
I even made a little envelope with a gorgeous floral photo!
So here’s to putting a little more thought, creativity, and joy into our gift wrapping this season. May it be meaningful, fun, and maybe even a tiny bit magical. ✨
