Should You Hire a Florist or a Flower Farmer for Your Wedding?

Wildflower wedding florals

The mother of the bride blurted out—( I was helping her work through all the questions and decisions about her daughter’s wedding flowers:

“So… do you think it’s better to use a florist or a flower farmer?”😂

Okay—of course I’m a flower farmer, so I have my bias.

But here’s what I actually said:

Every bride should choose what makes her feel calm, confident, and excited—knowing everything will turn out beautifully.

Some brides love the look, structure, and familiarity of a floral shop they’ve known for years.

Great—do that.

Others want unique blooms, a local feel, larger installations, or a more organic, creative design.

Then a flower farmer may be the perfect fit.

Flowers are a piece of art.

Van Gogh and Da Vinci both used brushes and paint—but the hand that held the brush made all the difference.

Even flower farmers—given the same flowers and the same vase—will create something completely different.

So how do you choose the right florist or flower farmer for your wedding?

Here are 3 ways I’d choose mine:

1️⃣ Look at their past work—do you love their artistic style?

2️⃣ Do they truly understand your vision and your dream day?

3️⃣ Do you like them as a person? You’re trusting their hands to help shape one of the most meaningful days of your life.

There are so many decisions when it comes to wedding flowers—but you don’t have to navigate them alone.

I’ve created a mini course to help you clarify your vision and confidently plan your wedding flowers.
